Why not eat or sell children to rich families to solve this situation?

In the Modest Proposal,  Jonathan Swift  gives a shocking remedy to eradicate poverty in an unthinkable way saying that in order to solve the problem, it is better to kill those children from poor families and sell them as food to the wealthy English landlors. It is a satirical masterpiece and a savage way to comment on England's economic exploitation; it was published in 1729.

Tale of a Tub

A Tale of a Tub was written in 1704. It is basically a prose satire. Only with the title, it is possible to highlight how the author refers to how some sailors look a whale and decide to throw a tub to avoid being attacked by the animal.
That's where the name technically comes from and Swift was referring to the problems that existed in religion and governments.
In short, there was a father who decided to leave a coat for each child he had (Peter, Martin and Jack), and they were told that they could not alter or sew the coats. The Roman Catholic Church was represented by Peter, Martin Luther by Martin, and the Dissidents (by Jack Colvin) by Jack. However, they slowly disobeyed their father, as they arranged their coats according to the fashion that was in each era. After a while they argue among themselves and separate. Peter and Jack fiercely attack each other (referring to the Roman Catholic and dissenters). In fact, said attack left every theology in ruins.
But this work goes beyond what is in the summary because there is really quite a lot of irony about human weaknesses, their follies and problems with both intellectual and religious pride and hypocrisy.
